Elemental Tatic
A tactics RPG on a grid, like Fire Emblem, except the terrain does things.
You can set a forest on fire. You can freeze a river and walk over it, and so can the enemy, and anyone standing on it when it thaws goes in the water. Lightning breaks ice. It also breaks walls, which opens a hole in your line as easily as theirs. Water conducts it.
Nothing checks whose side a unit is on before it burns them.
Mouse only. Click a unit, click where it goes, pick from the menu. Right click backs out.
Turn order runs on initiative, so there is no player phase and enemy phase. Morale can buy a unit a second turn, so one side sometimes gets three or four in a row. Hitting someone from behind gives some classes a bonus and stops the counterattack.
The AI uses everything you can use. It drinks potions, gives the good arrows to the archer, hands the horse to whoever rides, heals, blinks, looks for backstabs. That part took the longest and it is what I most want opinions on.
This is an alpha. The systems work, there is not much content, and all the art is placeholder.
I do the design and code on my own. I need a pixel artist to take over the art: 32x32 sprites in four directions, tilesets, UI, effects. Three chapters as a demo, then Kickstarter, revenue share. Message me on Discord at [handle].
All art in this build is placeholder. The finished game will use original pixel art.
